BOULDER — El Paso County commissioners voted 4-1 Tuesday to allow a proposed Buc-ee’s travel center to move forward without public hearings, ruling the massive development meets the zoning definition of a “convenience store.” The decision clears a major regulatory hurdle for the Texas-based chain known for its sprawling footprints, clean restrooms and brisket sandwiches. Commissioner Carrie Geitner cast the lone dissenting vote. The project is slated for a site near Interstate 25 and County Line Road, just south of the Denver metro area. Reporting by CPR News.
